Greg's formative years were spent at the Wascana, where he was Club Champion in 1978 and 1980. Greg returned to his roots in Regina, and at the Wascana to assume his duties February 1, 2009. He brings a wealth of Knowledge and Experience in Country Club Operations at the highest of levels.

Phone: 306-584-1377 Fax: 306-584-1779 Email: kerry@wascanacountryclub.com 2006 Saskatchewan PGA Merchandiser of the Year 2005 Top 50 Instructors in Canada 2004 Saskatchewan PGA Teacher of the Year 2003 Saskatchewan PGA Junior Promoter of the Year Kerry Schofield is moving into his fifth season as Canadian PGA Head Professional at Wascana Country Club and is in his tenth year as part of our team since joining in March 2001 as the Canadian PGA Associate Professional. Kerry attained his Class A status in 1993 and has been a Canadian PGA member since 1987. Kerry was born and raised in Regina, is married to Sharla and has one son, Cody. After being introduced to golf at the age of eight, Kerry entered the golf business at the Murray Golf Course as a Canadian PGA Assistant Professional were he worked under Head Professional Wayne Frank. From there, Kerry moved to Emerald Park Golf & Country Club and the Regina Beach Golf Club as Canadian PGA Head Professional before moving to Wascana Country Club in 2001. Kerry is very active in the golf industry both provincially and nationally. Currently, he is currently the President of the Canadian PGA of Saskatchewan Board of Directors and a Canadian PGA National Facilitator for the TCCP/NCCP Program where he trains his fellow Golf Professionals. Also, Kerry has taught at the University of Regina in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies for over 14 years. Kerry looks forward to continuing the many traditions at Wascana Country Club for many years to come in his position as Head Professional as well as helping to create some new and exciting programs at the club as we approach the 100th anniversary of the club in 2011.

Mike brings to Wascana Country Club extensive experience in the golf industry having worked at courses in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia for the past 16 years. Mike is a graduate with Honors of Turfgrass Management Technology (1992) and is a past director with the B.C. Golf Superintendents Association and the Saskatchewan Turfgrass Association. Mike's promotion to Superintendent offers unique opportunities as Wascana Country Club will continue the Vision 2011 project with Rod Whitman Golf Course Design as the selected company for the golf course part of the project. Mike's knowledge of the Wascana Country Club having worked as the Assistant Superintendent in 2001 & 2006 will prove to be invaluable as we move into the future.

Executive Chef | Rod Schubert

Arriving in Regina in 1988, Rod was employed as Executive Chef at the Travelodge South until accepting his current position at the Wascana Country Club in March 2002. The list of dignitaries Rod has prepared meals for during his career include Princess Margaret, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry and several, Prime Ministers. In 1995 Rod completed the Certified Chef de Cuisine program, achieving the highest level of chef certification in Canada. He is a national member of the Canadian Culinary Federation and is currently Vice-President of the Regina Academy Of Chefs & Cooks.

Food and Beverage Manager | Don Ziffle

His parents were members of the Wascana Country Club and he golfed here as a junior. This is Don's second tour of duty at the WCC after working at Ipsco Place ( Regina Exhibition Park ) as the Director of Conference and Catering for the last three and a half years. There, he was responsible for the service and delivery of the Catering department to events at the Queensbury Convention Centre and the Green and White Lounge at Mosiac Stadium. Prior to working at the WCC for 3 years, Don was employed at the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts and worked several positions in Client services. Don has been married for thirty-one years and has two sons, age 26 and 23. The oldest is a Paramedic in Moose Jaw and is a world ranked power lifter, which has allowed him to represent Canada internationally. His youngest is gainfully employed here in Regina. Don enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, and travelling. Throughout the winter months he plays oldtimers hockey and loves to play golf during the summer.

Events Coordinator / Canadian PGA Associate Professional | Maija Salmon

In 2010, Maija will continue to combine her position of Events Coordinator in the Catering Department with her love for teaching the game of golf. Maija has been a member of the Canadian PGA since 2002, receiving her Class A Status in 2005. She began her professional golf career in British Columbia at the Tsawwassen Golf and Country Club in 2002. In 2003, Maija accepted a CPGA Assitant Golf Professional position at the Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam, BC She worked here for three seasons until making the move to Regina with her husband Greg Salmon. Maija was born and raised in Regina where she began golfing at the Royal Regina Golf Club at the age of eight. She received her Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree, specializing in Leisure and Sport Management from the University of British Columbia in 2001. During her degree Maija was a member of the Varsity Golf Team where she had the opportunity to represent Canada at the World University Golf Championship in Northern Ireland. After completing her four years as a player at UBC, she was the Assistant Coach of the varsity women's team for two seasons where she had the opportunity to be a part of a NAIA National Championship winning team.

I moved to Regina upon graduating high school and started my first career in sheet metal construction. After a number of years in that profession, I returned to education, studying accounting and business administration. After graduating, I started my second career in accounting. I worked for a number of years for a chartered accounting firm earning some very valuable experience. During this time I started my own income tax business in southeast Saskatchewan which I maintain to this day in my spare time. After leaving public accounting, I joined the Wascana Country Club as their comptroller where I have enjoyed serving it's membership for the last 17 years. My life's interests have always remained in Saskatchewan. I met my wife of more than 25 years here and have two children. I enjoy many hobbies and interests that Saskatchewan, my home, has provided for me. I also enjoy being around people and always find time for a face with a friendly smile.

Lacey Mercer joined the Wascana Country Club March 1st as a recent graduate of office education from SIAST. Born and raised in Wolseley, Saskatchewan Lacey is excited to bring her small town friendliness to Wascana Country Club members.
